Ready and equipped to take on the future

PINESLOPES – The women from the Hirsch's Fourways ladies networking event learned a bit about how the business world is changing from Paula Quinsee during their recent event

Recently Hirsch’s Fourways hosted their monthly women’s network morning with Paula Quinsee, who is a relationship expert, author and speaker.

“Paula spoke about how our work environment will change in the future and asked if we possessed the necessary skills for these changes,” explained Marjone Barnard, the store’s public relations officer.

“Guests were enticed with the topics ranging from the jobs that will be available in 2030, new emerging sectors and the top 10 skills to have for the future.

“Robots are no longer something of the future, they are here now and have an impact on our relationships.”

Paula explained that while technology will cause change, there is still a need for the human touch.

“Robots will never be able to replace human contact and empathy. Money doesn’t make the world go around, relationships do. What are you doing to build that?” she said.

The networkers were given the opportunity to present themselves and their businesses in a 60-second elevator pitch on the day.

This was followed by a lucky draw, networking, sharing of business cards and enjoying refreshments and Wilda van Rensburg, the owner of Pure Romance, was announced as the month of April’s nominee for the Margaret Hirsch Women in Business award.
