MIDRAND – Members of Kyalami Estates Homeowners Association are prepared to 'make their mark'.

With the 2019 general elections around the corner, Caxton Local Media launched #IMadeMyMark to raise awareness about the significance of participating in the upcoming elections.

The Midrand Reporter visited Kyalami Estates Homeowners Association on 25 April to find out what residents had to say.

Administration clerk, Zoleka Onyeama reported that voting is essential as she believes that it ultimately means that you have a choice to say who is fit to meet your needs as a citizen of the country.

“What I can say is that, as South Africans, we need to be patient with our government because I strongly believe that change takes time, thus they cannot deliver services at meet all our demands at the same time. People need to stop complaining whereas some of them are not eager to voice up by simply voting,” said compliance supervisor, Lindani Kgwadi.

The association’s maintenance manager, Thomas Makgoba added that it is vital for the citizens of this country to take part in the elections so that they can vote for the parties they believe would make a difference in their lives. “Marking my ‘X’ will simply mean that I will be leaving a mark and I am positively ready to vote,” maintenance foreman, Kelibone Mahadulula concluded.
