‘Find the balance in work and life’

PINESLOPES – The attendees of this month's ladies networking morning heard from the winner of the Margaret Hirsch Woman In Business Achiever of the Year Award in 2019, Lori Milner.

Hirsch’s Fourways recently hosted their monthly ladies network morning with guest speaker, Lori Milner, who was this year’s winner of the Margaret Hirsch Woman In Business Achiever of the Year Award. She is also an author, trainer, thought leader and mentor known for her insightful approach to being a modern corporate woman.

Her brainchild, the successful initiative Beyond the Dress, is the embodiment of her passion to empower women.

“When it comes to personal growth and development, how do we close the gap between knowing and doing?” Milner asked the networkers during her time talking to them.

“It’s all about tracking the thoughts, patterns and habits we know we need to change or action, but somehow repeatedly fail to do. We need to find the balance between work and life, take charge and refill our cup. Take action every day to break down our goals into small steps.

“How we act is all based on attitude consistency and trust. Attitude towards ourselves and our lives and consistency in terms of making sure we schedule our priorities.

“Trust your actions through perseverance to the process, believing in progress and not perfection.”

Her message resonated with the women present.

“Lori’s talk was something we all needed to hear to get us motivated again.” commented Edith Chetty.

The networkers were given the opportunity to showcase their products and introduce themselves and their businesses whereafter the manager spoke to them about the specials happening at Hirsch’s over the weekend.

This was followed by a lucky draw, networking, sharing of business cards and enjoying refreshments. Allegro Dinkwanyane was also announced as the month of August’s nominee for the Margaret Hirsch Women in Business Award.
