Paradise Bend Primary School receives Christmas goodies from Steyn City Foundation

FOURWAYS– Plumari said the foundation has been delivering happiness to Diepsloot learners since 2012 with the help of some companies such as Auto and General Insurance.

The CEO of the Steyn City Foundation, Giuseppe Plumari, has urged Paradise Bend Primary School learners in Diepsloot to dream big and never stop chasing their dreams through education.

This was after the Steyn City Foundation in partnership with Bidvest Group joined hands to deliver bags of happiness filled with Christmas gifts to more than 1 500 learners at the school, with the majority of learners from underprivileged communities.

Former Bafana Bafana stars Brian Baloyi, Matthew Booth, Shaun Bartlett and Simthandile ‘Sim Tiger’ Tshabalala, the youngest member of Steyn City’s golf club, joined the foundation to hand over much-anticipated bags of goodies.

Plumari said the foundation has been delivering happiness to Diepsloot learners with the help of some companies such as Auto and General Insurance. “Steyn City Foundation has been delivering happiness to Diepsloot children for the past nine years.

“Although we undertake a number of charitable initiatives including, most recently, food drops during lockdown. This is our flagship project and one that is very special to all of us.

“Many of our workers come from Diepsloot, so it is a pleasure to be able to treat their children to some happiness during Christmas time.”

Simthandile Tshabalala encouraged his peers to get involved in sport and work hard to become best athletes.

“I have travelled around the world winning trophies and championships. It is not because I am better than anyone but I give my all every time I play in a competition. You can also do it and become the best in anything you dream to become.”

Grade 7 teacher at the school, Ditaba Chuma thanked Steyn City Foundation and appealed to big businesses to come to the party and lend a helping hand to learners from disadvantaged families.

“Most learners in our school come from underprivileged communities and having a brand new pair of shoes – it’s something some of them have not experienced.”
