Diepsloot organisation receives digital resources
DIEPSLOOT – A Diepsloot-based organisation received a number of technological resources that will be used throughout the community for various needs.
The new digital resources donated to Diepsloot-based non-profit organisation, Wot-If? Trust recently, is expected to help them continue to connect entrepreneurs with opportunities.
Makwa IT and Cisco donated the items to show support for the Wot-If? Trust by tackling the grassroots challenges faced in the country. The organisation manages and initiates a number of programmes and projects based on expressed community needs.

Founder and Trustee at Wot-If? Trust, Gail Styger, said the equipment and show of support were a huge vote of confidence, not only in the work they did, but also to the participants who used their facilities. “Our facilities in Diepsloot serve members of the community in a number of ways, but shared computers open us up to viruses, malware and cyber-attacks. The Cisco hardware and software offers us security, both physical and cyber, in ways we never thought possible,” she said.
The organisation enables platforms and spaces in Diepsloot to connect local small business owners with opportunities that aid them in generating sustainable incomes, and they found themselves subjected to a malware attack on their server, putting stored information at risk.
Yasmin Kirton of Cisco said the goal was to leave the foundation’s centre more digitally enabled to meet its day-to-day service goals.
Lethabo Mokone, founder and CEO of Makwa IT, said the only way to ensure the digital transformation benefits were felt in the country was to drive accessibility to the technology.
