Fourways non-profit organisation lends a helping hand to Soweto school for children with autism
The founder of Judy Ranoto Foundation said the adoption programme will see learners receiving a variety of services from her organisation.
In its efforts to help lend a helping hand to children living with autism, Fourways non-profit organisation Judy Ranoto Foundation has adopted Mohato School for Autism in Soweto.
Founder of the organisation Judy Ranoto said, “It is with great pleasure to inform you that Judy Ranoto Foundation is officially adopting Mohato School for Autism. As a result of this partnership, Mohato School for Autism will now receive the support benefits offered by Judy Ranoto Foundation.”
She said the support would include therapeutic horse riding that would be offered by Enos Mafokate Equestrian Centre and free dental hygiene services for the children at the school.

She added that the foundation would also work with the school to help educate and raise awareness about autism.
“Autism or autism spectrum disorder refers to a broad range of conditions characterised by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, speech and non-verbal communication. Many people have little or no knowledge about this disorder,” she said.
She said the foundation was planning to stretch its wings to other provinces to help the parents of children living with the disorder.
“Many parents get frustrated because they are not equipped with the necessary tools on how to handle children with this disorder. Our aim is to help parents and society understand the needs for people with autism.”
