Suspect arrested for possession of stolen motor vehicle
37-year-old suspect is remanded in custody after appearing in court.
A 37-year-old male suspect appeared in Randburg Magistrate’s Court on July 11 on a possession of a stolen motor vehicle charge.
According to Diepsloot police spokesperson Captain Tinyiko Mathebula, officers were on patrol duty on July 7 in Diepsloot when they received information about a suspected stolen motor vehicle that was in the area.
A search for the vehicle ensued and officers spotted the suspected stolen vehicle in Ext 7. “The vehicle was stopped and upon checking ownership, it appeared that it was reported stolen at Brixton Police Station,” said Mathebula.
The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He had since appeared in court and was remanded in custody.
