Devastation of Hurricane Freddy encourages local boxer to raise funds for his home country

Tropical storm Freddy brings Fourways boxer to embark on fundraising journey on helping victims from his home country of Malawi.

A Fourways boxer is working to help victims in Malawi affected by tropical storm Freddy.

The storm has left over 200 people dead and many in need of urgent aid.
Topbox Boxing Club member Denis Mwale has called on local businesses to contribute to his fundraising efforts toward victims in Malawi. His goal is to raise funds for shelter, food, and other essential supplies for those affected by the disaster.

Mwale said as a Malawian, he wants to do whatever he can to help his fellow countrymen from the devastation of the tropical storm. “I am deeply saddened by the devastation caused by Freddy. It is my duty to do what I can to help my people in their time of need. I am calling on local businesses to join me in raising funds to assist those affected by the disaster,” he said.

The Fourways boxer is set to fight for the Malawi title at the end of April. Using his platform, Mwale wants to raise awareness of the disaster and encourage support for those affected.

This is in hopes of inspiring others with his efforts to contribute to the relief efforts and make a positive difference in the lives of those affected. “I urge everyone to come together and support this cause,” Mwale said.

“Every little bit helps and together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disaster.”
Community members and local businesses interested in assisting Mwale’s cause can reach out to Topbox Boxing Club for more information.
