The Johannesburg Roads Agency’s (JRA) team has been busy putting up temporary poles with tape and cones on the damaged part of Uranium Street. The notorious sinkhole on Uranium Street towards William Nicol Drive has been in bad shape for months now after reportedly being damaged by stormwater that runs underneath the road.

The JRA team is busy putting up temporary poles with tape on the damaged part of Uranium Street.

“The team is putting up temporary measures to ensure it is safe for road users after escalating it to the Midrand JRA depot manager. I will continue driving provincial roads to be repaired as fast as possible as traffic will still get affected until they resolve it,” said ward 94’s councillor David Foley.

The JRA team, and ward 94 councillor David Foley, put up temporary poles with tape on the damaged part of Uranium Street.

The JRA is expected to put up cones and proper barriers to ensure safety as some motorists speed on the road. The sinkhole is approximately 100m from William Nicol Drive and motorists are urged to be cautious when driving in the area. Foley warned motorists to be cautious when travelling through the area as a permanent solution is yet to be made.
