Kids go on an Easter hunt

Finnis finds a great way to bring joy and happiness to the community during the holidays.

Charmaine Finniss is a property practitioner who works for Seeff Properties. Recently, she came up with a wonderful idea to give back to the community of Cedar Greek Estate, in Fourways.

Her idea was to organise an Easter hunt for the residents of the estate. Finniss saw this as a great way to bring joy and happiness to the community during the holidays. On March 24, the Easter hunt began.

“It was fun as the preparation was bubbling with creativity, fuelled by cups of coffee and a dash of imagination. It was like watching a pot of ideas simmer until it bubbled over with excitement. I knew I wanted to create something special for the residents, something that would weave joy into the fabric of their community.

She said she chose to have the hunt take place at the estate because of its picturesque surroundings and enchanting atmosphere.

“The estate serves as the perfect backdrop for a memorable event like this. With sprawling grounds and no shortage of hidden nooks and crannies, it’s a treasure trove waiting to be explored.”

There were a lot of fun things to do. Finniss said they had face painters transforming eager faces into works of art, cookie decorating stations where creativity knew no bounds, and, of course, the guest of honour himself, the Easter Bunny, hopping around spreading cheer.

“Let’s not overlook the main event – the Easter egg hunt, where every discovery felt like uncovering a hidden treasure. My highlight of the day? That’s a tough one, as every moment was infused with joy and laughter. But if I had to choose, it would be witnessing the smiles on the faces of the residents, young and old alike. It’s in those moments that the true magic of community comes to life, and I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of it.”

The Easter hunt wasn’t just for the little ones. While the kids may have led the charge in their quest for chocolatey treasures, the adults were equally swept up in the spirit of the occasion.

“After all, who can resist a bit of playful competition and the chance to relive the joys of childhood?”
