WBE showcased exhilarating boxing bouts, dramatic entrances, and unforgettable moments with an epic showdown between Jean Botes and Greig Walker.
The eagerly anticipated WBE48 Master & Action Boxing event, hosted at Lock Stock and Beer in Fourways, did not disappoint, delivering a night of electrifying boxing action, dramatic entrances, and unforgettable moments that left the packed venue buzzing with excitement.
Stephen Castle, WBE’s owner explained the event, ” In WBE48 Master and Action Boxing, we have boxers who fight for action boxing and those matches don’t have a winner nor a loser. Master boxing is where champions fight for a Gauteng Super Middleweight title.”

The night began with a dramatic ring entrance by Benedict Mbano, emulating the iconic WWE Undertaker skit, setting the stage for what was the action boxing fight of the night against JP Van Zyl.
The event proceeded with Anthony Heiss, representing Ultimate Fitness in Edenvale, receiving significant support from his fans as he entered the ring, which added to the already electric atmosphere. Heiss faced off against Brenton Grovender in a second, thrilling action boxing contest, which kept the audience on the edge of their seats.
The main event of master boxing featured an epic showdown between Jean Botes and Greig Walker for the Gauteng Super Middleweight Title. Botes started strong, dominating the first round and capturing the spotlight from Walker. However, Walker fought back fiercely in the second and third rounds, creating a nail-biting contest that had the crowd on their feet.

As the fight entered the championship rounds, Walker found his mark and delivered a powerful blow that sent Botes through the ropes. Botes was unable to answer the count, and Walker retained his title by KO.
“Walker’s victory has sparked exciting discussions about future title fights. Speculations are rife about a potential South African title shot against SA Middleweight Champion, Johnny Koen, who has expressed his willingness to move up in weight to become a double champion.
Additionally, former Cruiserweight challenger Riaz Morgan is considering a drop to Light Heavyweight, which could pave the way for a thrilling Morgan vs. Walker title fight at Light Heavyweight, should Walker decide to move up,” said Castle.
