Learners from Kyalami Preparatory School usher in festive season with Christmas carols at Kyalami Corner Shopping Centre
Kyalami Corner was host to a number of Kyalami Preparatory School learners who performed various Christmas carols in order to bring the community together.
Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and many more well-known Christmas carols were sung by learners from a local school at Kyalami Corner.
The start of the festive season was well ushered by Kyalami Preparatory School learners as they sang, played instruments to celebrate the beginning of the festive season and spread the Christmas spirit.
Segments of the morning included vocalists who sang some Christmas songs, our rock band will perform as well as their three marimba bands. The senior marimba band also performed Christmas songs they have learnt. The morning ended off with junior and senior choir learners singing a selection of festive season tunes.
Head of the arts and culture department at Kyalami Preparatory School, Bev Chalmers was immensely proud of the learners as she had been involved with during the organisation process.

She said that this is the third time the school has had their carols hosted at Kyalami Corner, and that the school has previously had a Heritage Day festival at the shopping centre.
“We want to bring our community together,” she said.
“We are a community school, and we want to encourage all members of the Kyalami community to come together. We want to give our pupils opportunities to perform as well as bring a little fun and joy into our busy schedules.”
She continued to thank Kyalami Corner for the opportunity to perform at the shopping centre and wished parents, learners and the community a restful season.
