Cedar Lakes Lifestyle Estate hosted its annual Domestic Workers Forum to educate, uplift, and empower residents’ employees with practical information on safety, emergencies, and where to go for support, both on the estate and in their personal lives.
The event was attended by various stakeholders, including the police. “We host the Domestic Workers Forum annually to empower our residents’ employees with vital information about safety, emergencies, and their rights.”
Pretty Buthelezi, of Fidelity Security Services, said the event was valuable for all participants, especially the helpers.
“The discussions and presentations provided essential information from various organisations, equipping attendees with the knowledge of where to go and who to contact when facing specific challenges.

“One of the most encouraging outcomes is the growing number of helpers attending the forum each year. This increase is largely due to the helpful information shared during the event, which participants then pass on to others in their networks.”
Buthelezi added that the forum has become a powerful platform for knowledge-sharing and community support, and its impact continues to grow with each edition.
