Craigavon blitz restores order in the suburb

Ward 115 Urban Inspector Cindy-Lee Speirs led a clean-up blitz tackling potholes, litter, illegal adverts, and infrastructure faults in Craigavon, bringing much-needed relief to residents.

Craigavon residents saw a wave of service delivery action on August 27, when Ward 115 Urban Inspector Cindy-Lee Speirs, together with her team, conducted a blitz operation in the suburb.

The initiative focused on skoffeling, litter picking, repairing potholes, removing illegal advertising boards, checking streetlights, and investigating a leaking valve at the corner of Poplar and Campbell roads.

Ward councillor Mark van der Merwe, who joined the effort, expressed his gratitude to Speirs for her consistent dedication. “She does inspections every day and organises a clean-up once a month.

I specifically chose Craigavon for this blitz because it has been looking very untidy lately, and it was important to restore a sense of order.

”The day’s activities formed part of the ongoing campaign to improve service delivery and address long-standing issues in the ward.

Van der Merwe added that similar blitz operations will continue across Ward 115 to ensure suburbs remain safe, clean, and well-maintained.
