Little Earth Kids honours dads with a morning of bonding and fun

Little giggles and laughter filled Little Earth Kids Preschool playground as fathers and father figures joined their children for a special Father's Day celebration.

The playground at Little Earth Kids Preschool in Douglasdale was filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of special moments as fathers and father figures spent the morning bonding with their children during a Father’s Day celebration.

The event, held ahead of Father’s Day on Sunday, invited dads, grandfathers, father figures, and caregivers to step away from their busy schedules and enjoy meaningful time with the little ones in their lives through a variety of fun and interactive activities.

From building projects and painting to drawing and creative play, the morning focused on strengthening connections and creating lasting memories.

Little Earth Kids principal and owner Jenny de Kock said the school places great value on family involvement and creating opportunities for children and parents to connect.

“Today, we’re having a wonderful event where we’ve got our daddies here for the morning.

“Daddies, father figures, mummies who take the role of daddies, whoever, they’ve come to spend the morning with their children.

They’re taking part in lots of different activities and fun. The idea is to bond, get off all devices, and just spend quality time together.”

She added that such occasions help strengthen relationships, while creating positive experiences for children.

Dad Warrick Rose said the event provided a valuable opportunity for dads to reconnect with their children and embrace their playful side.

“We are out here today to celebrate dads. Dads don’t often get a chance during the week to take a break, even if it’s just for a little while, and connect with their kids.

“After all of this, we usually feel just a little bit better about ourselves. That’s the gift of being a dad and having kids.”

Rose said the morning’s activities encouraged fathers and children to work together, be creative, and enjoy each other’s company.

“Another thing we’re going to do today is explore our creative side, our kid-friendly side. It’s very playful and it’s about making the day special. It’s reconnecting with your child and yourself.”
