The Love Light Care Foundation celebrated Mandela Day by donating essential items to vulnerable children and pregnant mothers at Witkoppen Clinic in Fourways.

Founder Michelle Chelliah Singh said the initiative aimed to support orphaned, abused, and vulnerable children, while giving back to the community the foundation has served for years.

“We’re here today in celebration of Madiba Mandela Day. We’re here to help the vulnerable, the orphaned, and the abused children.

We are always finding ways, as an organisation, to help the vulnerable in our community, because it is close to our hearts.”

She explained that the clinic was chosen because of the foundation’s long-standing relationship with the facility. “Being a resident in Lonehill, supporting Witkoppen Clinic has been one of our major projects over the last four years.”

Among the donations were handmade baby beanies created by the foundation’s Knitting Circle of Love, as well as clothing and shoes for those in need.

“Our knitters, from our Knitting Circle of Love, have graciously made baby beanies for the pregnant mums. We also have clothing and shoes.”

Charity Nyoni was floting on cloud nine after getting some goodies.

“It is winter and cold. This came at a very right time and we are so grateful for the assistance the organisation gave us. This is not the first time we see them doing this wonderful work for us as the community.”
