Players in it to win it at Steyn City’s second annual golf challenge

Golf enthusiasts gathered at Steyn City’s second annual golf challenge.
The challenge was played on Steyn City’s Jack Nicklaus-designed 18-hole championship course. There were four participating teams representing Steyn City, the media, rugby and cricket. With a lingering competitive spirit in the air, the teams all had their eyes steadfast on the prize which was a floating bronze trophy.
The challenge brought together well-known sports journalists, sports people, sports commentators and Steyn City’s management team as well as new resident golf members.
Among the high-profile players were rugby’s Mac Masina, Owen Nkumane and Krynauw Otto; cricketers Albie Morkel, Qaasim Adams, Henry Davids, Chris Morris and Kruger van Wyk; rugby commentator Naas Botha and seasoned sports journalists Christo Buchner, Ken Borland, Robbie Kruse and Ben Karpinski.
Team Steyn City was able to retain the trophy for a second year with a combined individual score of 348 points. In second place was the cricket team with 330 points, team media took third place on 297 and last with 292 points was the rugby team.
Claiming the nearest the pin competition were two Steyn City golf members, Bryce Myburgh (hole 9) and Angelo Giudice (hole 14).
