Africa Minifootball Cup of Nations hosted in South Africa
History repeats itself as the Africa Minifootball Cup is hosted in South Africa.
The South Africa Mini-football Association was named as host for the Africa Mini-football Cup of Nations this year.
Festivities began at Monte Casino where the draw was held to determine which teams would face each other in the group stages.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Development in the City of Johannesburg, Lubabalo Magwentshu said, “It is an honour to stand before you, representing the vibrant football community gathered here. On behalf of the City of Johannesburg, I extend a warm welcome.”

Representatives of all 16 participating countries came to South Africa along with their presidents. The draw was overseen by Africa Mini-football Confederation president Archraf Ben Salha.
Achraf Ben Salha, President of the African Mini-football Confederation, and his committee represented nations such as South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Somalia, Morocco, DRC, Tunisia, Lesotho, Zambia, Libya, Nigeria, Simione, and Chad.
The City of Johannesburg describes the tournament as a continental indoor mini-football competition contested by the senior men’s national teams of the African Mini-football Federation. The first edition was held in Libya in May 2018.
The Africa Mini-football Cup of Nations will take place at Monte Casino from May 18 to May 24.
