4Paws friends looking for homes
DIEPSLOOT – If you are looking for a new family pet or want to lend needy animals a hand, look no further than the 4paws Animal Shelter in Diepsloot.
As winter approaches, spare a thought for the dogs and cats from the 4Paws Animal Shelter based in Diepsloot.
The shelter currently cares for about 35 dogs and over 200 cats looking for a home to call their own. There is an adoption fee of R700 for adult cats, R900 for adult dogs and kittens and R1 110 for puppies, which include sterilisation and vaccinations.
If you aren’t able to take home a new pet right now, you can still help the shelter animals by donating dog and cat food, immune-booster products to keep animals healthy during the cold months, tick and flea treatment and blankets. Storage containers and old tyres are also welcome, as these will be used as beds inside the kennels and cattery.
“People are also welcome to donate household goods, as we can sell these to raise funds for the shelter,” explained Tammy Lemmon of 4Paws. “Shade netting always needs to be replaced.”
And if all you have is your time and effort, 4Paws is always looking for volunteers to help out around the premises.
“People are welcome to spend their 67 minutes for Nelson Mandela Day with us, and schoolchildren can also do their community service with us as long as they’re not afraid of getting their hands dirty.”
