Car raffle raises funds for the SA Guide Dogs

The winner of the raffle could not believe that she won a car.

The SA Guide Dogs Association for the Blind raffled off a car that they launched last year. The aim was to raise funds for providing life skills, assistive devices, and assistance dogs to change the lives of the visually impaired, physically disabled, and children on the Autism spectrum in the South African community.

The prizes were for two brand-new Suzuki Swifts.

The Suzuki representatives were so happy to give the car to Andrea Jansen along with SA Guide Dogs, Carli and Violet.

The first draw saw Andrea Jansen in a vehicle that she recently collected from the showroom at Suzuki Edenvale.

“I mean really, who wins a car? I took a raffle ticket at one of the events we were at and that was that. One Saturday afternoon the head of marketing phoned me to tell me that my ticket had been drawn as the winner. I think I said something like ‘Are u serious? How did I win a car?’ There was lots of giggling, and I was quite overwhelmed and in disbelief, honestly. It’s a bizarre feeling, quite surreal.”

Just before Jansen drove her brand-new car off the showroom floor at Suzuki Edenvale, she said “To be able to win a phenomenal car from a cause so close to my heart makes it more special.”

“Our next draw is taking place on March 10 at our SA Guide Dogs Family Fun Day Festival that will be held on our campus at 126 Wroxham Road in Paulshoff,” said the SA Guide Dog’s regional marketing manager, Nicole Barros.
