Race 4 Hope changes lives

With each year’s event, Race4Hope gains more popularity.

The Western Race 4 Hope was held at the Beaurain Venue outside Heidelberg on May 5.

Not only did the event aim to have a race on the calendar, it also aimed to make a difference in people’s lives and lifestyles. It was also about having a great time with family and friends, surrounded by nature’s beauty while doing a running and cycling trail.

The funds collected were in aid of the Lesedi Community Centre.

The previous race, August last year, saw the competitors face windy elements.

The cross-country running distances were 2.5km, 5km and 12km trails.

The mountain bike race distances were 2.5km, 5km, 12km, 19km, 30km and 60km.

For the first time, the 30km and 60km events were Cycling SA-sanctioned.

The turnout and support were tremendous due to a record number of entries for all disciplines and distances.
