Dart players to represent Ekurhuleni East at Nationals

Three local players were chosen to represent the Ekurhuleni East Darts Association (EEDA) during the annual Darts South Africa National Championships, which will take place at the Klipriver Recreational Centre in Johannesburg from 5 to 11 July.

NIGEL – Bertie Botha, Lizelle van Dyk and Sandra Ford have been selected for EEDA in May, after showing immense skills during two weeks of trials at Kingsway Club in Brakpan. The national championship will see players from all provinces and districts competing for the ultimate goal – to be selected for the National Protea team that will represent the country on the international dart front.
Public relations officer for EEDA, Freddie Burmeister, has congratulated the players, wishing them the best of luck in the upcoming national event.
The Ekurhuleni East Darts Association men’s team consists of Thys Ferreira-Netto (captain), Hans Viljoen (president), Freddie Burmeister (manager), AJ Fivaz, Bertie Botha, Johan Niemand, Johny Mostert, Arno Swanepoel, Danie Binneman and Pieter Swiegers. They will compete in the National Darts SA Championships in July.

The EEDA women’s team consists of Lenie Siemens (captain), Magdelize Wiese (manager), Lizelle van Dyk, Sandra Ford, Claudine van der Spuij and Tilla Kruger. In the middle is Hans Viljoen (president).
