Gymnasts do Nigel Proud at Eastern Gauteng Competition
They will proceed to represent Eastern Gauteng at The Gauteng Festival being held at the end of May in Pretoria.
Gymnasts from Nigel Gymnastics Club took part at the annual Eastern Gauteng Artistic Gymnastics Regional competition, which was held in Kempton Park on May 5.
All 30 gymnasts who entered the competition achieved their Eastern Gauteng colours. They were also placed top in many of their individual age groups.
The following gymnasts have been awarded medals according to their averages during the competition:
Level 3: Veronique da Silva – gold medal (first overall), Kaylee Stoltz – silver medal (first overall), Ruvan Coetsee – gold medal (third overall), Zule Geering – silver medal, Kayla Oosthuizen – silver medal and Esmari Pieterse – silver medal.
Level 2: Alyssa Maritz gold (first overall), Maryke Hauptfleisch gold (first overall), Reinhart Joubert gold (first overall), Kayleigh de Bruyne gold (second overall), Desire Hauptfleisch gold (second overall), Leah Strydom silver, Jessica Forrester bronze, Chrizaan Hough bronze, Jayden Beckman bronze, Ayesha Omar bronze, Marne van der Westhuizen bronze and Riccardo Bonaretti bronze.
Level 1: Reneilwe Msiza gold (first overall), Ashton Schouw gold (first overall), Dominique Kriel gold (first overall), Amore Bosch gold (seconc overall), Kayleigh van Wyk gold (third overall), Ine Viljoen gold (third overall), Ami Oosthuizen gold, Amelia Strydom gold, Anushca van der Merwe gold, Alessia Bonaretti silver, Ane Bezuidenhout silver and Theressa Gxamza silver.
