Disadvantages associated with handling and keeping of huge amounts of cash have prompted the City of Ekurhuleni to adopt a cash-free system in its licensing centres.
The pilot project in this regard was the Kempton Park Licencing Centre which went cash-free on 01 April 2019. The intention is to roll-out the system to all the city’s licencing centres.
The following licencing centres will be cash-free zones with effect from 01 August 2019:
- Wadeville
- Alberton
- Boksburg
Only bank cards such as debit and credit cards shall be the only acceptable form of payment.
