Spinner from Nigel go head-to-head in the Red Bull Shay’ iMoto championship

Spinners from various parts of South Africa, including Nigel's very own Vernon Veejaro Hendricks, will go head-to-head in a battle to be crowned the first-ever spinning champion at Wheelz n Smoke Arena in Johannesburg this weekend.

This year, Spring will not only come with the typical gradual rise of temperatures, but the heat will further intensify as Red Bull Shay’ iMoto hits Johannesburg.
The event takes place on October 19 from 18:00 at Wheelz n Smoke Arena. Participants will have to capture the hearts and minds of the judges and the crowd by exhibiting their best tyre-slaying skills. They’ll have to use the stage to earn the respect of the community and establish themselves as true street royalty.
16 of Mzansi’s high-profile spinners from various parts of South Africa will go head-to-head in a battle to be crowned the first-ever champion. Judges include respected industry spinners and opinion leaders Magesh Ndaba, Jeff James, Shahiem Bell and Sparky Hendricks.
Vernon Veejaro Hendricks from Nigel will also strut his stuff in his spinning rounds which consist of flamboyant 360s, deep kitchens and mad amounts of smoke. Hendricks finds himself quite at home in competitive spinning and will be competing with 15 other spinners from all around the country, to be named the first Red Bull Shay’ iMoto champion.
Round one will see judges scoring each spinner on their driving skills and showmanship, but from the second round, judges will be joined by the voice of the crowd in deciding the spinning champion.
Spectators can expect an exhilarating event that celebrates motorsport. The main sponsor (Puma) will also host a Puma pit stop with a range of exclusive deals on motorsport products.
Tickets are R100 and available at Computicket. For more information, visit their website.
