DA councillors of Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM) say they are fed-up with council ignoring them regarding various serious issues which have been brought up over the years during council meetings.
“Every time we ask for feedback, we get vague answers and council keeps on referring it to the next meeting. We have now decided to write an official letter that will be presented in the next council meeting which will take place tomorrow (November 28),” Sieg Paul (Ward 10) told HERAUT.
The preliminary notice was hand delivered on November 19 to the municipal manager as well as the speaker to inform them of the DA’s intensions.
Paul says it is especially Kaydale and Jameson Park residents who seem to have been forgotten by the municipality and that he is at his wit’s end trying to engage with LPM on issues of infrastructure such as roads, water and water and electricity.
According to Paul, more questions regarding various other issues of the municipality will also be submitted at the meeting. The letter ended with “we trust that these questions will be included in the agenda for the council meeting on November 28 and that answers from the relevant departments will be forthcoming” and was signed by DA councillors Sieg Paul, Mirna Mulder (Ward 8) and Gerry Holtzhausen (Ward 9).
