NOTICE: closure of municipal offices during festive season

The municipal offices in both Nigel and Heidelberg will be closed between Christmas and New Year.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) announced that the council offices (including the Nigel and Alrapark Customer Care Centres) will be closed between Christmas and New Year. All administrative offices, libraries, selected rates halls and pay-points will be closed from 12:00 on December 24 and will re-open on January 02. The municipality has however confirmed that emergency and essential services such as refuse collection, electricity and water services will not be affected by the recess. CoE spokesperson Themba Gadebe reminded residents to pay their municipal accounts on time and utilise online facilities such as the www.e-siyakhokha.co.za platform.

The cemetery administration office situated at the municipal offices in Hendrik Verwoerd Street will be open on 27, 30 and 31 December between 08:00 and 12:00. Phone 083 378 9161 for assistance. The Vlakfontein offices in Dunnottar will be open on 27, 30 and 31 December between 08:00 and 12:00.

No refuse will be collected on Christmas Day, 25 December.

HEIDELBERG

Lesedi Local Municipal offices will close on December 31 and reopen on January 2.  Refuse will be collected as usual even on public holidays (including Christmas- and New Year’s Day).  Lesedi Fire- and Rescue (on the corner of Loveday- and Eugene Marais Street in Rensburg) will remain open and the 24-hour manned control room can be reached on the usual number on 016 341 4327 for any emergencies.

For medical emergencies the control room can also be used (please note that GPG (Gauteng Provincial Government) ambulance services as well as the Working on Fire team are situated at the fire station)) or use the number 10177 (medical emergencies only).
