Planned water interruptions for Nigel and Duduza
Residents of Nigel and Duduza areas are being urged to prepare for the planned water supply shutdown this weekend.
The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) has indicated their intention to interrupt the water supply in Nigel and Duduza on June 11.
The emergency water supply interruption will start at 05:00 on Friday.
The cause of the interruption is due to Rand Water would like to do tie-in operations at the M10, M7 and Heidelberg Station into existing pipelines to commission the 14km section of the newly installed M2 pipeline.
The affected areas are Duduza, Masechaba View, Bluegum View, John Dube Village, Nigel, Ferryvale, Visagie Park, Glenvarloch, Pretoriusstad, Vosterskroon, Alra Park, Mackenzieville and Tsakani Extension 19/20/21.
The shutdown duration is expected to last 26 hours.
If there are any delays from Rand Water the affected communities will be made aware.
