Man missing after falling into mine shaft
The search for the 32-year-old man who disappeared down a mine shaft continues with the SAPS canine unite brought in.
A 32-year-old foreign national was reported missing on October 6 after he allegedly fell into a shaft used by illegal miners.
SAPS members went to the scene, located in Plein Street, and summoned the canine unit to help with the search.
According to Const Doris Nkosi from Heidelberg SAPS, the man was busy with illegal mining activities when the incident occurred.
A friend of the man’s, who was with him when he fell into the shaft, contacted his family who reported the incident to the police.
The man has not yet been found.
