Unlicensed firearms and stolen property – three arrested

The people were arrested by Duduza SAPS members during the intelligence-driven operation.

An intelligence-driven operation was conducted on November 18 in cooperation with members of the EMPD’s Swat Team.

This was done in an effort to help minimise house robberies in the area.

Duduza SAPS members and the EMPD investigated suspects who were believed to be involved in a house robbery in Nkumbane Street in Langaville.

Members proceeded to an address in Duduza after receiving information from community members.
Upon arrival, the members found three people.

Two were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms while the third person was arrested for possession of stolen property.

Two 9mm pistols and one Lovo 55 inch plasma television and a big speaker were seized from the arrested suspects.

One of the pistols was hidden in the bag of the third suspect, who is also the girlfriend of one of the other suspects.

Members were commended for their swift response by the SAPS Ekurhuleni district management in the fight against crime in the area.
