Festive season crime sting operation
SAPS sting operation successful over holiday season.
HEIDELBERG – On December 30, 2021, Heidelberg and Ratanda SAPS together with various other stakeholders in the law enforcement sectors launched a joint sting operation known as, “O Kae Molao”.

The operation had immediate success in the fact that various criminals and offenders were apprehended and arrested.
Some of the offences that were concentrated on included illegal liquor trading, trading without legal documentation, drug trafficking, road traffic act offences as well as other crimes around the district of Sedibeng.
The operation had immediate success with the following arrests: Two Motor vehicles impounded for further investigation, four suspects arrested for being in possession of drugs, one arrest for selling of illegal cigarettes, one arrest for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition, 22 traffic fines issued for contravening the Road Traffic Act, 37 arrests for undocumented and illegal immigrants, one arrest for domestic violence, two arrests for selling liquor without a license and the illegal shebeens has been shut down.
Liquor was also confiscated and handed over to the SAPS exhibit storage.
