During the latest operation, there was a good success rate with arrests made for various offences committed.

Eight people were nabbed for possession of drugs and narcotics, 31 road traffic fines were issued for various offences, 28 illegal immigrants and undocumented persons were taken into custody for possible deportation and four were arrested for the sale of alcohol without proper documentation.

Some illegal shebeens and taverns were also shut down. All the alcohol was confiscated and handed over to the SAPS for safekeeping.

The SAPS encourages residents who know of any criminal activities in the area to immediately contact local police.
