Learners from Laer Volkskool visited Heidelberg SAPS on January 21 to show their gratitude for a job well done.
They also wanted to thank Capt Madeleine von Wielligh, who adopted Laer Volkskool as a school to work closely with by attending to the school’s needs and complaints when it comes to police matters.
Lt-Col Mpumi Dlamini was surprised by the school visit.
“This is a nice surprise and it is the first time that a school visited us to make us feel special,” said Dlamini.
She thanked the school on behalf of the Heidelberg SAPS and extended her gratitude to school principal Piet Strydom for allowing the children to visit them.
Learners gave cupcakes to the police officers and requested that the police visit the school more often in future.
