The body of Nelius Jacobs was found on the Rooihuiskraal farm on January 21.
Farmworkers patrolling the area noticed a blue Renault parked in the maize fields on the farm. Heidelberg SAPS was contacted to investigate.
When Sgt Jimmy Mohlala arrived on the scene, he found a body inside the vehicle. There was a knife wound on the person’s right-hand side.
The knife was still in the body and blood was found on the victim’s hands. Mohlala did a background check on the vehicle and contacted the owner who said that Jacobs and the vehicle had been missing since the previous day.
A missing person’s report had been filed at the Vanderbijlpark Police Station on January 21.
Nothing else was missing from the vehicle. His cellphone and wallet were also still in the vehicle.
Investigations are ongoing.
