Heidelberg welcomes new addition to community with official opening of Build It store
This latest venture promise to provide a significant boost to local commerce and convenience for residents seeking quality building materials and home improvement products.
The town welcomed a new addition to the community on November 22 with the official opening of the Build It store at the Victorian Village on Voortrekker Street.
This latest venture promises to provide a significant boost to local commerce and convenience for residents seeking quality building materials and home improvement products.
The store’s owner, Jamal Sahib, told HERAUT that the new Build It is more than just a retail outlet, it represents a commitment to community growth and economic development.
Motivation for opening the store in Heidelberg came from Freddie Angrisano, a local resident and Build It regional operations manager.

“The community needed an above-average hardware store,” said Angrisano.
The store boasts many products, including hardware, plumbing supplies, electrical components, and home improvement essentials. With a spacious layout and knowledgeable staff, customers can expect a seamless shopping experience.
“We are excited to provide a one-stop-shop for all their building and renovation needs,” added Sahib.
In line with its community-centric philosophy, the store is already making strides in local engagement and was one of the sponsors for Laer Volkskool Golf Day in October.

“We are not just here to sell products, we want to make a positive impact in the community,” emphasised Sahib and added that the management team, staff and suppliers shares his philosophy.
This was evident during the official opening where suppliers had stalls displaying their products with lucky draws where customers won great prizes.
Sahib also managed to employ five staff members from another local store that closed recently.
Store manager John van Tonder is also a local resident who can now spend less time on the road. Van Tonder managed the Tsakane store for the past nine years.

At a Build It store, ribbon cutting is slightly different. The ribbon is replaced with a chain and the officially opening was announced with cutting the chain with a bolt cutter.
As the store opens its doors, Heidelberg can look forward to the convenience and opportunities the Build It store brings.
“I am very excited about the store’s future growth and contribution to the local economy,” Sahib said.
Residents are encouraged to visit the store and experience the quality products and friendly service it has to offer
