Dedicated investigation leads to lengthy sentence

Due to persistent investigation and dedication to his work, Detective Sergeant Bongani Dlamini has ensured a criminal has been jailed for 10 years.

He secured the conviction of Bangiswani Emmanuel Mnguni (27) for tampering, destroying and stealing street light cables.

Mnguni was sentenced in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court to 10 years’ imprisonment and was also declared unfit to own and carry a firearm.

Station Commander of Devon SAPS Captain Thokozile Ndou said: “Dedication and perseverance made sure a criminal pays for his crime.

“This is a lesson for everyone to take note we are ready to rid the community of criminal activities.”
