Body found in shallow grave at former residence of murder accused

Police received a tip-off.

The body of a man was discovered in a shallow grave at a residence on Arnoldi Street in Heidelberg on October 30.

Local police confirmed the residence was once occupied by JaƩn-Lee Pyne, the murder accused in the July 3 Ueckermann Street shooting, along with other tenants.

According to reports, Pyne stayed at the premises for five years.

He is currently out on bail for the murder of Etienne du Preez and the attempted murder of Flip Minnaar.
His next court appearance is on November 12.

Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed extensive investigations are underway.

According to Masondo, police received a tip-off that led to the excavation, during which a body wrapped in a carpet was found in the front garden.
