Vaal Marina SAPS, the operational commander Constable Nevan Pungan, Firearms Liquor and Second Hand Goods Control (Flash) Sergeant Jaque van der Berg and role players that included the SAPS diving unit, Vispol, and K9 conducted an illegal fishing investigation at the University of Johannesburg grounds and Boschkop Farm on November 14.
The SAPS members arrested three illegal immigrants.
They also seized three canoes, two oars, one life jacket, 12 fishing nets and about 400 fish.
The suspects will appear in court soon, facing various charges.
