SAPS’ routine inspection yields arrest

The suspect was nabbed during a stop-and-search.

The Vaal Marina SAPS’ routine inspections on the R54 resulted in the arrest of a man for possession of drugs on November 30.

According to Vaal Marina SAPS communication corporate officer Constable Tshilidzi De Huis, members doing a vehicle stop-and-search found a passenger with a green bag. Upon searching it, they found dagga and crystal meth.

The driver said the passenger was a hitchhiker he had picked up.

The SAP members accompanied the occupants in the vehicle to the Vaal Marina Police Station for official statements and arrested the suspect.

The SAPS opened a case of possession of dagga and crystal methamphetamine and confiscated the drugs as exhibits.

The suspect will soon appear in court.
