Heidelberg SAPS acting station commander Lieutenant Colonel Nompumelelo Dlamini and various stakeholders included CPF, ADT, SAPS members, and Sector 1 Sub-Forum visited the Bergsig suburb of Heidelberg on December 7.
The visit aimed to sensitise the community about a rise in burglaries that is occurring in Bergsig. Dlamini also advised about what to do to prevent or minimise the burglaries.
The community was also encouraged to report all criminal activities to the Heidelberg SAPS.
“The community is the police’s eyes and ears on the ground, and we as law enforcement cannot operate if we do not work hand in hand with the community,” said Dlamini.
Dlamini added that she will call another meeting in due course for feedback and consultation with community members.
