Heidelberg SAPS, Social Crime Prevention, sector commanders, the CPF, Siyabangena Patrollers, and the Youth Desk held an operation on April 10.
The team visited various sectors, distributed pamphlets and addressed community concerns. They also conducted a few spot checks that resulted in several arrests.
In Bergsig, the members handed out approximately 200 pamphlets.
In Sector 2, the members visited scrapyards and conducted an operation in Shalimar Ridge.
They addressed the community on community safety and other issues, made four arrests for various sexual offences and handed out four traffic fines to the value of R2 000.
On April 11, Heidelberg SAP was back in Bergsig to discuss crime and criminal activities with residents.
The team urged the community to assist the CPF in beefing up patrols and keeping the suburb crime-free.
