Heidelberg Mall jewellery store robbed by three suspects

The suspects tied up the manager and shop assistant with cable ties and left them in the back office.

A jewellery store in Heidelberg Mall was robbed by three suspects on the morning of June 10.

According to reports, the store manager and her shop assistant were on duty when three individuals, two men and one woman, entered the store at approximately 10:30.

Two of the suspects posed as customers looking for rings, while the third, a man dressed in a blue overall and carrying a box, proceeded to the manager’s office at the back of the store.

Once inside, he allegedly produced a firearm and ordered the manager to open the safe and place the jewellery into a black sports bag.

He then moved to the front of the store and instructed the shop assistant to remove all jewellery from the display cabinet and place it into the same bag.

The two other suspects assisted during this part of the robbery.

After clearing the display cabinet, the suspects tied up both the manager and the assistant with cable ties and left them in the back office.

The trio fled the scene in a white Nissan NP200 bakkie.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported and no shots were fired during the incident.

Heidelberg SAPS has opened a case, and an investigation is currently underway.
