SAPS appeals for help to trace persons linked to Dunnottar murder case

Police are calling on the public to help identify and locate several individuals who may hold crucial information in a Dunnottar assault case that turned fatal.

The Ekurhuleni District SAPS is appealing to the public for assistance in locating several persons of interest who may be able to assist with an ongoing murder investigation in Dunnottar.

According to the Office of the District Commissioner, Major General Anna Sithole, the individuals depicted in circulated images are believed to have information related to a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm that later escalated into murder.

The incident occurred in February, when a 22-year-old man was allegedly assaulted in Dunnottar after being suspected of theft. It is reported that a group of approximately six men were involved in the attack.

The victim later succumbed to his injuries, leading to the case being changed to murder.

Police have confirmed that one suspect has been arrested so far, while efforts continue to trace additional individuals who may have information crucial to the investigation.
