On September 2, NPO Harvest Outreach Centre held its annual graduation event.
Harvest Outreach is a strong advocate for previously disadvantaged individuals in the community. Harvest outreach works mainly with the youth, women and children.
The objective of Harvest Outreach is focused on assisting people who want to move from a dependency state to self-sufficiency – moving from welfare to a more secure and sustainable interdependent climate.
They do most of their work in the Ratanda area. Part of the outreach programme is a new end-user computing program aiming to equip the youth in their own community.
Harvest Outreach hosted their graduation ceremony with Clr Bhehi Mkhize, Sisa Bam from LLC, organisational board director members, families, friends and community members in attendance to support the graduates.
Mkhize said, “Harvest Outreach Centre is doing great things in this community. This may seem small to some but take it seriously and build from it.”
He also congratulated the top-performing students.
The 10 top students were awarded for their outstanding performance and dedication, and for setting themselves apart from the other students.
They are Paseka Mahamotsa, Thabang Tsotetsi, Donald Lebethe, Sphiwe Mlotshwa, Spiwe Makhubo, Zanele Pitela, Karabo Molefe, Shantel Phiri, Sibongile Kubeka and Mathekiso Khanye.
Various other speakers had their chance to encourage the graduates and invited others to go to the Harvest Outreach centre to advance their skills.
