Mosotho Mokoena (29) a local fashion designer from Ratanda beats his competitors to win the MIA Creative Design award.
The awards were presented at the Apollo Hotel in Randburg on October 29.
Mokoena had to go through various voting rounds to get into the final and to be invited as a finalist.
“Being a finalist was already an honour, but to win the award is a dream come true,” said Mokoena.
“The future is already looking much brighter. I am planning to get around as much as possible to meet new people from around South Africa,” said Mokoena.
The clothing style that Mosotho creates is flashy outfits and authentic African fashion.
”I want to help the needy where I can as I see so many people suffer and want to help them in any way. I see the process as if I bless someone I will get blessed. I have been on the receiving end and know each person needs a push in the right direction to make something of their lives,” concluded Mokoena.
