SAPS – Do not buy stolen goods

Know your neighbours and report any suspicious activities to the SAPS.

The local SAPS and various stakeholders met with community members in Impumelelo Ext 4, Phase 3, on August 1.

They spoke with the residents about stolen goods sold at various shops and advised them never to accept stolen items.

“Buying stolen goods promotes crime and criminal activities,” explained the Devon SAPS social crime prevention and communications co-ordinator, Constable Yvone Skosana.

The entities encouraged the community to report any suspicious activities in the area. They also said the residents must know who their neighbours are and who stays in their yards.

The SAPS distributed various pamphlets with the stakeholders’ contact details for the community to use.
