Dambisa Neliswa Dwaba at the Nigel SAPS was promoted to captain as of November 1.
Dwaba (47) joined the service 22 years ago and has worked at the Nigel Police Station ever since.
She holds a human resources diploma and is in her third year of her Bachelor of Policing degree.
Dwaba, also the Vispol commander, said the police are working diligently to reduce and manage crime in the area.
