Nigel Gymnasts excel in Ekurhuleni qualifier
Nigel gymnasts shone at the district qualifier in Pretoria, with several earning podium finishes and securing spots at the provincial competition.
Nigel Gymnastics delivered an outstanding performance at the Ekurhuleni District qualifier in Pretoria on August 22 and 23.
Six gymnasts proudly represented Nigel and qualified to compete at the Gauteng provincial competition in September.
Several also secured podium finishes in their respective levels:
• Megan Willemse (level 4): First on beam, second on floor, third on bar, and third overall;
• Mieke Esterhuizen (level 5): First on vault, second on beam, third on bar and floor, and third overall;
• Joanika du Plessis (level 6): Third on bar;
• Alyssa Maritz (level 7): Third on bar.
The club expressed excitement for the provincial competition, noting the dedication and hard work of the young athletes.
“We are proud of our gymnasts and look forward to watching them perform at the next level,” said the coaches.
