Rensburg’s DJ Linda Dlamini spins his way to success

Rensburg’s Linda Dlamini, better known as ‘Linda Da DJ’, is making waves in the local music scene

Linda Dlamini (29), better known as ‘Linda Da DJ’, has made a name for himself as one of Rensburg’s rising stars on the local music scene.

According to Linda, his journey into house music began at a young age.

“When I was nine, I collected cassettes, mostly Oskido’s Church Grooves and House Flava by DJ Fresh. My father saw how much I loved music, so every year on my birthday, he would buy me cassettes. That’s how my passion kept growing. I used to go to local taverns just to watch DJs perform and, before long, people started calling me play at local gatherings,” he said.

In December 2013, he met fellow DJ Thabang Nonyane, who introduced him to professional equipment.

“As soon as I had learnt to use CDJs, I went to play at a local pub, and that’s where I met Jomo and Biggy. They were impressed with my style when I played and eventually introduced me to event promoters. That’s how people started to know me for my deep house sets.”

Linda draws inspiration from industry icons Vinny Da Vinci, Oskido, DJ Kent, Revolution, Euphonik and DJ Ganyani.

He specialises in deep house, blending smooth vocals with soulful instrumentals.“The journey has not been without its challenges. Sometimes, organisers don’t pay or cancel my set. But I have learnt to overcome those challenges by believing in myself and trusting in what I pray for,” he said.

Despite the ups and downs, Linda is grateful for the opportunities that have come his way.

“Local events give known and unknown artists a platform to showcase their talent. I have played at places like Best Beats, Tequila Gang, Moving Beat TV, Alex Radio and KCA Radio. I’m working on releasing one or two original tracks in 2026,” he added.
