Gymnasts from Nigel showcased their talent in September at the Gymnastics SA Provincial Competition held in Pretoria.

They proudly represented the Ekurhuleni team, delivering strong performances against some of the province’s best young athletes.

“We are incredibly proud to say that all six of our gymnasts qualified for their Gauteng Provincial Colours and will represent Gauteng,” said coach Charlene Maritz. “These gymnasts train long hours while maintaining their normal daily activities. We look forward to supporting them at Nationals,” she added.

The gymnasts performed exceptionally well, placing within the top 10 of their respective divisions:

Megan Willemse: Fourth Bar, fourth Floor, sixth overall

Mieke Esterhuizen: 10th Vault, seventh Beam

Joanika Du Plessis: Fourth Beam

Rene Vogel: Seventh Vault, 10th Bar, 10th Beam, ninth Floor, 10th overall

Alyssa Maritz: 10th Floor

The gymnasts will compete in October at the National Championships, representing their province and showcasing their continued dedication and skill.
